QME Competency Exam Prep

Physicians who can be appointed a QME in California include Medical Doctors (MD), Doctors of Osteopathy (DO), Doctors of Chiropractic (DC), Dentists (DDS), Optometrists (OD), Podiatrists (DPM), Psychologists (PsyD) and Acupuncturists (DAc).

Continuing Education Courses

Per the California Labor Code, a QME shall complete within the previous 24 months of his, her or their term of appointment 16 hours of continuing education in disability evaluation, or workers' compensation-related medical dispute evaluation, or other workers' compensation-related topics.

QME Kickoff

This course will concentrate on musculoskeletal specialties. You will have 8 hours of intensive, in-person and hands-on training that will ultimately give you the confidence you need walking in to your first QME evaluation.

Anti-Bias Training

This course offers instruction on the awareness and understanding of implicit or unconscious bias, stereotyping, and discrimination. Required by DWC.

Case Law with Kite and Vigil

This course covers Vigil opinions, synergy versus overlap, Almaraz/ Guzman and Benson. DWC approved for 2 credit hours

Med-Legal Report Writing

This course is approved by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation for 2 credit hours of the med-legal report writing CE requirement (does not fulfill the 16-Hour RW requirement).
